What is Mediation?

Mediation is a dispute solving process in which an unbiased third party, the mediator, guides people through negotiations to a solution mutually satisfying to each individual. The process allows the interests and needs of the parties to be met in the framework of a non-hostile environment.

Mediate or Litigate?

Unlike the adversarial approach, the parties in dispute work together with the mediator towards
reaching a mutually satisfying decision. It is one that they can better abide by because they cooperated in reaching that decision. Because the parties must always deal with each other directly it is the parties’ own sense of fairness that prevails.

Further Advantages:

  • Self-determination of results
  • Significant financial savings
  • No costly legal fees
  • Privacy and Confidentiality
  • Personal Contact between parties
  • Durability of Agreements
  • Greater freedom in Adjusting Details
  • Savings in time and Costs
